About Us
Founded in March 2020 by Dr. Shazwan Sahabudeen and Ms. Julie Das, Greater Action is a non-profit organization run by dedicated volunteers.
We support Afghan refugee women through comprehensive programs that address their unique challenges and promote economic independence. Our initiatives include skills training, education access, baby donation support, healthcare services, advocacy, language and cultural education, self-care, and ongoing learning opportunities. These efforts empower refugee women, helping them rebuild their lives and contribute to their communities.
Our Mission
Our mission is to improve the lives and the welfare of the most vulnerable refugee families forced to flee their homeland by supporting them with quality education, sustainable livelihood opportunities, and much-needed general and mental healthcare.
Our Vision
To create a dynamic community of self sufficient and skilled refugees who are strong mentally and well prepared for their resettlement to a third country.
How We Do It
Our Greater Action Center in Bandar Baru Ampang is a cornerstone for fostering sustainable livelihoods among refugee women. This nurturing environment combined with our volunteer trainer’s commitment and talent, we empower refugee women to sharpen their skills in tailoring, cooking, baking, and beauty, leading to self-sufficiency and the restoration of self-esteem and dignity.Together, we can create change!
Greater Action is recognised as a non-profit social organisation providing services to persons of concern to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
