Our Programs

Education

Refugees children do not get access to mainstream education in Malaysia

Education breaks the cycle of poverty and empowers communities. In Malaysia, over 54,000 refugees lack access to formal schooling. We partner with three learning centres, educating over 160 children. Monthly, new refugees with school-age kids arrive, unable to afford education.

SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD VIA SKILLS TRAINING

Refugees do not get access to legal jobs

Skills training in baking, cooking, tailoring, and beauty enhances refugee women’s livelihoods by providing professional expertise. These programs promote entrepreneurship, empowering women to start business or find employment locally. They build confidence and financial independence, supporting families and communities. This training fosters resilience, self- sufficiency, and a brighter future.

General Healthcare

Refugees get very limited access to specialist healthcare

Refugees in Malaysia face a healthcare crisis. Greater Action steps in by providing urgent medical care at discounted rates or free of charge through partnerships with two local clinics. These clinics focus on attentive care and specialist referrals. For emergencies, we rely on crowdfunding and sponsor support. Specialist doctors, we need you!

Artist Development

Greater Action Art Gallery supports 13 refugee artists from various minority backgrounds who share a common passion for creation and art. This platform not only allows them to express and release their emotions but also serves as a therapeutic outlet for their experiences. We provide the necessary materials and a social media platform to enhance their visibility, showcasing their unique talents to a broader audience. Additionally, we organize annual exhibitions ranging from small showcases to larger events, helping these artists gain recognition and connect with the community.
